Amstelguide is an independent editorial project covering Amsterdam’s owner-run shops, cafés, barbershops and studios. There is no editorial team and no ad sales desk — one publisher researches, visits, writes, photographs and films every entry in this guide.
How it’s made
Every shop on Amstelguide has been visited in person. Photos and video portraits are shot on location, with the owner’s time and permission — never stock imagery, never a press kit. Nothing is a sponsored placement: if a shop is featured, it’s because it earned the visit.
What’s next
The Jordaan is the first guide, covering the Jordaan, Haarlemmerbuurt and Negen Straatjes. More Amsterdam neighbourhoods follow as they’re walked, shop by shop.
